Day Of Details
Meet up at 7:30. Have your suit on, and – if you’re feeling fun – a costume! (Don’t worry, you only wear the costume on the bus, not in the water).
Bring your own beverages. You can bring water, Gatorade, beer, hard seltzer, or if you’re feeling festive, jello shots! (No glass bottles, please!)
Order of Events:
Kegs – There will be 1–2 kegs on the bus, more info to come
Swim Caps – All participants will be offered a Plunge Masters swim cap! They come in multiple colors and the colors will be first-come-first-served.
Can I bring a non-swimmer friend, partner, spouse with me?
Yes you can! The more the merrier! The only rule is: if you don’t swim very well, don’t try to swim around the pier with the group; stay on the sand or shallow.
What’s the rule on wetsuits?
Your call. Water temps are usually in the high 60’s. A pier swim is going to take ~20 minutes so you’re not going to be in the water for long. If you want to wear a wetsuit for the day, by all means. I’ll be in my Speedo.
Can I wear fins?
Yeah! If you want to wear fins for the swims, do it!
How crazy is this event?
Not very crazy, but lots of fun. Just think about having fun, good music on the bus, running around on the beach and into the ocean, and the beautiful views from in the water. Piers and Beers has yet to disappoint.
Have you done this before?? I’ve never heard of it.
This is the fourth annual Piers and Beers! The event was inspired by SWIM Long Beach who have been doing a similar event for years swimming around the Balboa Pier, Newport Pier, Huntington Beach Pier, and Seal Beach Pier.
