Swim / Run Race with Mina Swimwear and Fit

Laura Mackay from Plunge Masters launched her swimwear brand, Mina, just before the holidays. “Mina isn’t competing with Speedo, Jolyn, or Sweaty Betty — it’s a new category: elevated materials, rich color, and designer prints you can actually move in (and live in). Think swimwear that works hard, looks beautiful, and integrates seamlessly into your wardrobe.”

On Sunday, March 1st, she’s teamed up with Fit to host a Swim/Run race, followed by Pilates and a Mina pop-up at Fit Social on the beach. Similar to the mile-mile, you’ll swim a mile, run a mile. Event is at 10 AM — meet at Fit Social!

Membership

Plunge San Diego and Fit Misson Beach members have free access to the Plunge Masters team. Day passes can also be purchased at the Plunge for swimmers who would like to drop in.

How much does it cost?

$70/month — Plunge San Diego Gold membership (See all Plunge San Diego memberships and rates)
$45/week — Coming in from out of town? Grab a week pass.
$15/practice — 1-Hour Pass to the Plunge
$$/month — Fit Mission Beach members. Inquire at Fit for current membership rates

Practices

In-water practices offered Monday through Friday from 6-7 AM. If you missed a practice, need some workout inspiration, or are considering joining and want to know what kinds of sets we swim, take a look at our profile on Swim.Team.

Equipment

Do I need any equipment for practice? We have kickboards and pull buoys at the pool for you to use. If you would like to bring fins or hand paddles, you may do so but it is not required.

What is Masters Swimming?

Masters Swimming is a coached swim team. In this case, “Masters” simply means 18 and older. Our team is affiliated with U.S. Masters Swimming (USMS). Team members who choose to register with USMS will have access to sanctioned events (swim meets) and receive their bimonthly SWIMMER magazine. Membership with U.S. Masters Swimming is not required to participate in practices.
