Good to know

FAQs.

Can I bring a non-swimmer friend, partner, spouse with me?
Yes you can! The more the merrier! The only rule is: if you don’t swim very well, don’t try to swim around the pier with the group; stay on the sand or shallow.
What’s the rule on wetsuits?
Your call. Water temps are usually in the high 60’s. A pier swim is going to take ~20 minutes so you’re not going to be in the water for long. If you want to wear a wetsuit for the day, by all means. I’ll be in my Speedo.
Can I wear fins?
Yeah! If you want to wear fins for the swims, do it!
How crazy is this event?
Not very crazy, but lots of fun. Just think about having fun, good music on the bus, running around on the beach and into the ocean, and the beautiful views from in the water. Piers and Beers has yet to disappoint.
Have you done this before?? I’ve never heard of it.
This is the fifth annual Piers and Beers! The event was inspired by SWIM Long Beach who have been doing a similar event for years swimming around the Balboa Pier, Newport Pier, Huntington Beach Pier, and Seal Beach Pier.
